This work is composed of text strings spelled out by a "DNA" of four bases (A (adenine), T (thymine), G (guanine), and C (cytosine)), generated from the features of the viewer as captured by a camera. The generated DNA is inserted into objects that model inanimate objects, which then engage in biological activities as "cells" of the viewer. This process takes its motif from technologies used in the life sciences and medicine to insert DNA into cells.
In the video image, the world of viewers' cells unfolds, reflecting fundamental biological phenomena including multiplication, self-mutation, and mutation caused by environmental factors. This provides a glimpse into evolutionary processes and the world of living organisms. By seeing their own DNA in action within cells and experiencing the biological phenomena of the natural world, viewers sense their own existence as living organisms and touch upon the meaning of life and their connections with the natural world through this work.
